A verse & an explanation *why it's a good idea to pick up already read books

Before I left for Chicago I purchased a book called "The Happy Intercessor".  Intercessory prayer is not regarded as a spiritual gift in all Churches.  In the Church I grew up in it was, and that was the gift that I was usually prophesied as to have.  It's a form of prayer that takes on the burdens of others, intercedes for them- just as Christ interceded for us on the cross.  The debate rises in that if Christ was the ultimate sacrifice then where is the need for intercessory prayer- lalala, I usually stay out of arguments like this unless they directly go against the teachings of Christ.  Potato potahtoh, rerapture post rapture, I don't really care.

This book was great, and talked about how intercessors can live lives of continual worship through their gifts, and be joyful while doing this.  We're talking epic spiritual battles, something that isn't just your haha funny horoscope-ouiji bored-tarot readings or your eternally damned angry doom songs- stuffs real people, ain't a joke.  Protect your mind & your heart.  Intercessory prayer attempts to go into this arena and agree with God, or rather, stake a claim on this Earth- you can imagine, if you must suspend your disbelief do so- that in this epic battle, any mere mortal human who stakes a claim against anything supernatural would be a prime target for unbridled attacks, and they often are.  What this book attempts to do is break apart bit by bit what it really means to join God & not try to be God.  This brings me to the verse:

11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds[c] and teachers,[d] 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[e] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

We are called to live a life free from the turmoil of this world, not because it's not there- not because the glowing red error sign doesn't shine brightly, but because it doesn't matter.  It can be overwritten.  Jesus healed the sick brought people back to life, there is no death here when we accept this truth.  I myself have struggled with being tossed to & fro- mental war with myself, because my mind doesn't breath like it should...yet ;)  (but it's leeeaaaarning)  I do NOT agree with fear.

I had this horrid dream last night that I was running through the woods with some friends and we got to a gunner station- we climbed up and cut what we thought were their electrical supplies- I asked my friend to smell the cables that he had just cut to see what they were running, specifically what alloy they were using & he said he smelled nothing.  He handed it to me & I saw the cables were hollow, & they were running oxygen.  We had just cut their air supply.  We then climbed up to see what they were needing an air supply for- & got into an awful shoot out with them.  I blame Skyrim for all of this.

Anyway...often we cut our own air supplies.  We forget to breathe.  One of the best things about promising myself to write every night  is that these words will also be a lasting reminder to myself to pause, because the minute I remember these things, these words, these truths, is the minute the world around me comes back into clearer focus & I can actually begin to live out again- speaking truth in love & spreading JOY!
